Health Tip: Common Food Allergies in Children
Here's what may make them react

(HealthDay News) -- A food allergy can trigger symptoms such as abdominal pain, itchy or swollen lips, or diarrhea. While food allergies most often first occur during childhood, in many cases, children eventually outgrow them.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine says these foods are frequently responsible for allergies in children:

  • Shellfish, including clams, shrimp, lobster, snails and crab.
  • Fish.
  • Eggs.
  • Peanuts and tree nuts.
  • Milk products.
  • Wheat products.
  • Soy products.
